The Litbuy Spreadsheet Jackets tab covers the piece that most changes how an outfit reads: the outerwear silhouette. Read the Jackets tab well and every other tab starts falling into place. This post is the guide that gets you from staring at rows to actually ordering.
The four silhouettes
The Jackets tab on the Litbuy Spreadsheet Hub splits into four sub-strips: puffers, shells, windbreakers and overshirts. Puffers dominate winter with heavy fill and quilted panels. Shells run three seasons — light enough for spring, protective enough for shoulder-season rain. Windbreakers are the transitional layer for early autumn. Overshirts sit between a heavy shirt and a light jacket. The 2026 refresh exposed the sub-strips at the top of the tab, which cut scanning time in half.
Fabric and fill notes
Puffer rows call out fill power and fill weight — higher fill power means warmer at less weight. Shell rows note whether the outer is coated or bonded, both of which change water resistance. Windbreaker rows note whether the fabric is packable. Overshirt rows note whether the fabric is flannel, twill or a heavier canvas. Read those notes before opening the photo folder; they save time.
Season pairing
Match the silhouette to the temperature range you actually wear it in, not the label. A puffer sized for zero-degree weather is miserable at ten degrees; a shell rated for summer rain is useless in a real winter storm. The Hoodies deep dive covers what to layer underneath, and the Pants guide covers what to wear below.
Sizing conventions
- Puffers — usually TTS; size up only if you plan to layer a heavy hoodie underneath.
- Shells — TTS or slightly boxy; check the notes.
- Windbreakers — often boxy; size normally, expect a relaxed fit.
- Overshirts — TTS with drop shoulders on many rows.
Picking your first jacket
For a first jacket, choose a shell in a neutral colorway — it covers three seasons and pairs with almost every top on the sheet. Reserve puffers and windbreakers for once you know your sizing across the catalog. Cross-check the row with the weekly finds list or the standalone Litbuy Finds guide before pulling the trigger.
Pairing with the rest of the catalog
Jackets pair naturally with Sneakers, T-Shirts and Pants. For a full look, the Sets tab on the homepage often groups a jacket with matching pieces. If you like the layered-outfit approach, the Jerseys and Accessories post shows the finishing pieces that pull an outfit together.
Ordering with confidence
Jacket rows spike in stock during autumn and winter — do not sit on a row you love. Return to the homepage and tap Litbuy Spreadsheet or Buy It Now. If you have not read the pillar Litbuy Spreadsheet guide, that is the best next read.
